A Note From the Pastor…
My wife and I visited Itaituba, Brazil, in September of 2022, (that is our picture in front of a river-side sign that translates “I love Itaituba” on the front of the bulletin this week). We were excited to visit the Todd’s, excited to visit a new culture, and blessed to see how God was working in a place so far, and so foreign, from our Kentucky home. Our trip began with a cancelled flight on the last leg of our journey, which required us to hire an “air-taxi” to get into Itaituba. It was a small, purple, late 70’s Cessna, with 4 seats and just enough room for our luggage. Not exactly what I had in mind! Yet, we arrived safely, and God blessed us in allowing us to meet many wonderful people of God.
After services this morning, our group will be leaving for Kansas City as we prepare to fly out to Brazil in the morning. Tamra Cochran, Dale & Melody Jacobson, Kent Lockhart, and I – all desire your prayers as we travel and as we explore. Yet, I do not want you to just pray for a safe journey, but to pray that we can encourage, strengthen, learn, grow, and be a benefit to the Kingdom of God! People often view missions as “digging wells” or “sharing knowledge” with people who we think are not as blessed by God as we are – yet often we can learn as much as we can teach. We can be encouraged as much as we can encourage. Simply, we desire your prayers to be used by God as He sees fit!
I am including part of our itinerary so you can more effectively pray for us while we are gone. Thank you in advance for your prayers and your faithfulness!
