A Note from the Pastor…
I want to begin by thanking everyone who sent a card, shared a gift, or blessed us with Christmas “goodies,” (they have wreaked havoc on our diets, but totally worth it!). It is a blessing to serve with each of you and I look forward to the coming new year. My wife and I both continue to feel welcomed and appreciated – and for that, we both say thank you!
The past few months have been busy for me here at the church. We examined the “Faith of our Fathers” in an October sermon series, I was in Greece the first part of November, (with Thanksgiving following quickly), and we just finished the Advent Messages for the month of December. As you read this, we are home in Kentucky visiting family and sharing Christmas with our loved ones there.
Yet for several months, I have also had several messages concerning marriage on my heart – and I feel compelled to share it with our congregation as we begin a new year. This will be a series about more love, faithfulness, and the blessings of marriage, (which we will examine) – and more than about the destructive nature of sin that continues to bring trials to so many people today, (which we will also examine). What I want our congregation to truly see is God’s picture, purpose, and protection that He provides in a truly biblical and godly marriage.
There will be Sundays where I hope you are challenged, (to be a better husband or wife). There will be Sundays that may make you uncomfortable, (a calling from God to draw closer). Yet, I pray you will see God’s beautiful and perfect plan for marriage, His forgiveness when we fail, and I pray you will see my heart as I share these important truths from God’s Word. May God bless as we faithfully follow Him!
In Christ,
Pastor Chris
