We’re Always Excited to Welcome New Visitors
Our church is a place where all are invited in to discover who God is and the purpose, He has for all of us in His story. We think church should be one of the most engaging and exciting places on the planet—a place where people of any and all backgrounds can experience a God who is real and relevant in their lives today.
If you've been following God your entire life, you're welcome here. If you're new to faith, you're welcome here. If you're not really sure you believe in God at all, you're welcome here. No matter where you are on the road to faith, we want to walk alongside you. Our hope is that as you join us on the journey, you'll discover a God who is active, alive, and at work in your life.
Our church is located at 1010 Churchill Dr., and parking is located to the South and/or West of the church.
If you have mobility restrictions or young children to carry, feel free to use one of the spots closest to the door. We like to keep them free for visitors and people who need assistance.
Please don't worry about what you'll wear to church,
for we truly believe people should come to God as they are. You don't need to dress up to get his approval--that comes through Jesus' sacrifice. Once you walk in the doors, you'll see that the congregation has all types of people in all kinds of dress. While a few people in the church wear ties, others like to remind them that Jesus never wore a tie. Shorts are as welcome as suits, and you'll see both.
Coffee is available in the room located at the South end of the hallway.
You'll have a chance to meet our pastor and many other people in the church. We'd also love to get to know you so you're a familiar face the next time you come.
What To Expect
When you walk in,
one of our greeters will introduce themselves and welcome you to our church. They're usually stationed outside as well as inside at the doors, and they'll help you find the nursery, and Sunday school rooms if you have kids. They can also point you to the restrooms, sanctuary and fellowship area. If you have any questions about the service itself, the greeters are able to provide helpful answers.
During the service,
you'll hear our faith expressed in the songs we sing, prayers we pray and in the message that's preached. You may laugh, cry, be moved but hopefully be brought closer to Jesus. You'll hear the Bible proclaimed as we are committed to upholding the truths of God's Word.
We believe in the Trinity. We believe Jesus is the Son of God, born of a virgin, was crucified, died, was buried and rose on the third day. We believe in resurrection of the saints. We believe Jesus is the ONLY way unto salvation.
After the service,
join us for a cup of coffee and give us a chance to get to know each other. Say hello to our pastor and anyone else you see. We'd all love to hear your story and share ours with you.
No matter what your Christian background is (or isn't), we hope you'll join us on Sunday. Here at the First Church of God, you'll find people of all sizes, stripes and colors, and we welcome everyone--including you. Our service starts at 10:30 a.m. every Sunday morning.
